[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]Fun Fact: It’s Christmastime, a part of the year filled with cynical cracks at capitalism having its own holiday (also: Black Friday) and lying to little kids about Christian saints paraphrased as immortal pseudo-mythical figures.
Therefore, let’s talk about Love Actually. One of the most memorable scenes from the film was when the audience - both of film and play within said film - finally sees (and more importantly, hears) Sam’s (Thomas Sangster) crush, Joanna (Olivia Olson) blowing away the whole auditorium with her singing. The 11 year-old Olivia was actually so talented that those making the film had to teach her to not be so damn good for the fear of the audience picking up their phones and calling bullshit. Then again, their efforts end up culminating in her taking breaths when she doesn’t need to, somehow apparently taking the audience reaction from “Oh my god there’s no way that girl can sing so well” all the way down to “That’s perfectly believable.”
Nowadays, along with a not-so-often-updated youtube channel, Olivia, now 17 years old, works as a voice actress in two ongoing roles, as Vanessa in Phineas and Ferb (She still works with Thomas, now 21 years old, who voices Ferb), and through that role, she was able to land the part of Marceline in Adventure Time.
